At Fitdog, we’re extremely grateful to have dogs in our life. Working with animals every day is challenging, uplifting, comforting, and so much more. At the end of the day, we wouldn’t want it any other way! We asked some of our staff why they’re thankful for dogs to celebrate Thanksgiving.

As local business owners, we’re grateful for the opportunity dogs have given us to create this awesome community of dog lovers. We’re grateful to have a place for dogs to be themselves in the middle of a big city. And of course, we’re endlessly thankful to the people who continue to show up and advocate for our services. Without you, we wouldn’t be here today!

We would also like to take this time to acknowledge our awesome staff, who you’ll meet in the video below. Our team works tirelessly to ensure all the dogs who come through Fitdog are treated with love and kindness, just as if they were our own pets. Our employees are a dedicated team of individuals who all have exhibited compassion for the animals. Safe to say our operation would not be possible without them!

Why We’re Thankful for Dogs

Here are some of our favorite quotes from staff members over the years expressing why they’re thankful for dogs:

“I am thankful to have dogs in my life because they’re so genuinely happy. They always brighten our day and I love being the one to greet them in the morning!” – Dani, Shift Lead

“I’m thankful for dogs inability to mask their excitement and pure joy when they first see you. They truly live in the moment and we should too.”- Tim, Excursion Leader

“Thankful to have dogs in my life because they are my companions, friends and bodyguards.” – Andrea H., Club Rep

“I love dogs because they love me with the same unconditional love I give them. Besides they are angelically conscious of the world around them and they make great companions when I can’t count on anyone else. That’s why I am thankful to have dogs in my life.” – Victor, Overnight Club Rep

“Their love is unconditional. No matter what they have gone through, they will love you no matter what. As long as you give them a chance or have food! Plus, I like them more than people.” – Samara, Asst. Manager

“Dogs depend on you to be a better person and so you do your best to rise to the occasion. The challenges of which give levity and perspective to life that make everything worthwhile. I am also thankful that part of my job description includes belly rubs, scratches and cuddles. Not many people get to say that.” – Andrea S., Owner & Co-founder

“Dogs teach us how to enjoy life with just the bare necessities: food, water, love, family and someone to clean up after you.” – Terrance, Club Manager

“While their unconditional love is wonderful, their unconditional gratitude for your attention, care and love is a wonderful thing. It’s also great to have companions that don’t constantly complain about trivial problems. Beyond grateful for that!” – Ian, Club Rep

“I’m thankful to have dogs in my life because they’re always loving and make any day better with the affection they give.” – Ashley, Club Rep

“I am thankful for dogs because they bring so much joy to so many people’s lives. Dogs are a never ending source of comfort and companionship in my life and they are there for me in ways that a person could never be.” – Maddie, Shift Lead

“I’m thankful I have dogs in my life because they remind me how good life can be.” – Geo, Club Rep

“I am thankful for dogs because they make my life AWESOME! Dogs are always so happy and it brings me great joy to cuddle with them and get doggie kisses in return! Plus I love their fluffiness!” – Peaches, Dog Walker & Club Rep

“Because they make it hard to be or stay upset and they love unconditionally.” – Josh, Club Rep

“I am thankful for dogs in my life because they made my transition to Cali a blessing!” – Rob, Club Rep

“There are countless reasons to feel thankful for our dogs, they make us feel loved, they keep us active and on our toes etc. However, the biggest reason, is they adapt to each of us individually and show us a direct reflection of ourselves. Those who understand this evolve as humans. They are always there for us, unconditionally. A true lesson of compassion.” – Jeff, Principal Trainer

“Without my dogs I wouldn’t be able to live normally. They make me happy and love unconditionally no matter what happens in our crazy lives.” – Katie, Shift Lead

“I’m thankful for the unconditional love dogs give. When you are sad or having a bad day they are right there to make your heart smile.” – Seth, Excursion Leader

“I am thankful to have dogs in my life because they are more loyal than humans, no matter what happens at the end of the day, your dog will love you like nothing happened. My dog has shown me how to be more kind and loving and understanding.” – Rebecca, Club Rep

“I’m thankful because they pay my bills. I bond with them and can speak their language. They are like my kids. I love them to death. Working with them is also therapeutic for me.” – Carrington, Club Rep

“I am thankful for having dogs in my life because they help me forget about the daily pitfalls of life.” – Brock, Club Rep

From all of us at Fitdog, have a Happy Thanksgiving and remember to give thanks to your dogs and loved ones this holiday season!
