Ever since it hit Youtube last week, Pixar’s new short Kitbull has stolen the hearts of millions of viewers. In this short film, we watch as a street-wise kitten makes an unlikely friend: a pit bull. Their friendship outweighs adverse circumstances, and in classic Pixar fashion, leaves you with an overflowing heart.
By representing pit bulls in a positive light, Kitbull lets viewers see pit bulls in a way they are not usually portrayed.
We believe this short film plays an important part in changing the dialogue on pit bulls and the unfair rap they get. It’s nice to see pits being portrayed as we know them: loving, gentle, and loyal.
One thing the protagonists have in common is their falsely tough exteriors. The pit bull, despite being friendly by nature, only has to look himself to be considered a threat. Meanwhile, the kitten has to work to be seen as a fierce opponent.
As with all great Pixar movies, the story is psychologically true. While we may look different from one another, we all want love, friendship, and security. And when you are open to the possibilities of friendship, beautiful things can happen.
We don’t want to spoil too much but rest assured this is the best video you will see all week. Or, maybe even all year, if you’re as animal-obsessed as we are.

We hope that this short inspires people to see past the stigmas that plague animals. Or, we hope it inspires you to befriend a Kitbull duo of your own. However it makes you feel, you can be sure it will make you feel all of the feels. Try not to cry over a little kitten and pit bull– we dare you.
