Saturday Night Live paid tribute to dogs this past weekend with a new digital short called “I Love My Dog.” The short features SNL cast members Kenan Thompson, Pete Davidson, and Aidy Bryant, newcomers Chris Redd and Ego Nwodim, and host James McAvoy.
The song celebrates the most faithful women in these men’s lives: their dogs. The production design indicates a play on the vaporwave art niche while the cast members portray grandiose hip-hop artists spoiling their “bitches” with their riches.
This song is a modern ode to our faithful companions. Play it in the shower, the car, or the club. Let’s all sing it a bit louder: I LOVE MY DOG!
