5 human foods that are super good for dogs
Adding any of these foods to your dog’s regular diet can promote health and entice eating.
Carrots
Carrots make tasty treats plus they are low in calories and high in fiber and vitamins. Give them to your pup steamed, raw or freeze them to make a chew treat.
Chicken & Rice
Boiled chicken and rice is a quick and easy meal to make and will soothe your pup’s stomach when they are sick.
Pumpkin
Pumpkin is not only packed with Vitamin A, but it also helps resolve tummy issues. If your dog shows signs of constipation and/or diarrhea, mix in canned pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling) to their food.
Sweet Potatoes
Sweet potatoes are a good source of dietary fiber and contain vitamin B6, vitamin C, & beta carotene – essential nutrients your dog craves. Slice sweet potatoes and dehydrate or bake them for a low-fat treat.
Coconut Oil
Coconut oil helps promote healthy skin and coat for your dog. Put on hot spots to provide cooling comfort. Other benefits: supports healthy joints, promotes weight loss, reduces symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome, and more!
Treat Time Fun!
Aside from these fantastic edible snacks, we have one household hack we can’t help but share! Cupcake baking pans and tennis balls can be turned into a fun game. Simply hide the treats in the muffin tin and cover it with a tennis ball. Your dog will love the challenge of discovering their treat-reward! Our Fitdogs love it and yours will, too!
