Having reliable recall training is one of the most important basic obedience skills, but it is also one of the hardest skills to teach for owners. And on top of it being difficult, it’s not fun for owners to teach.

So, why is recall training so important? It’s simple: Safety. Having the ability to call your dog to you can prevent a number of dangerous and life-threatening situations. Being hit by a car, running away, roaming off-trail, approaching an aggressive dog, interacting with wildlife, and engaging in dog fights at the dog park are just a few situations solid recall can help you avoid overall.

To make sure all dogs have this important skill, we’ve designed a recall class especially for those owners who want the benefit but not the responsibility of teaching recall. Our Reliable Recall class uses simple and interactive games to teach your pup how to “come.” So not only does your dog learn how to come when called, but they also have plenty of fun.

recall training

Here are 5 Reasons Reliable Recall Training is worth it:

Don’t plan ahead

This training class is a drop-in session, so you don’t have to be on the hook for multiple classes. You can drop off any Monday when it suits your schedule. For pups that have limited recall skills, we do recommend a minimum of four classes, but that’s entirely up to you.

Dogs have fun
Reliable Recall trainer Rhonda has been training dogs for over 16 years and is skilled in engaging dogs. Her recall games make the training fun and mentally stimulating for dogs.

See results
After a couple of sessions, you will notice an improvement in your dog’s recall and willingness to come to you. You can maintain this progress by always giving rewards (treats or ball time) after your dog comes to you.

Socialize
Your dog will be around other dogs as part of the class. For dogs that don’t like big groups, this is a perfect opportunity for small group socialization.

Do more
After your dog becomes a recall superstar, your dog will be able to safely participate in off-leash activities like Beach Excursions and Canyon Hikes and be outdoors with you!

Reliable Recall is offered every Monday! Get the foundation for basic obedience and a healthy (and safe) life for your dog!
